The first investigations into UFO

The Board of Studies Uranus

In 1951 was born International Commission of Scientific Investigation Uranus (CIES), founded by the French Marc Thirouin ; It was the first private organization to work on studies of UFO and related problems. This committee was called Uranus (from the greek "heaven", "light") on account of the facts which should have dealt with: luminous phenomena taking place in heaven. When its founder died in 1972 , The elderly members of CIES is re-creating the Board of Studies Uranus (CEO) to join as many others. It rapidly spread outside the France . Thus the CEO slowly grew thanks to researchers, scientists, historians, biologists, psychologists, chemists who have contributed for free, regardless of their philosophical position, policy or official. The CEO an era in which views were exchanged concerning ' ufologist (both more practical than metaphysics), were carried out analysis of documents, cases and sources with care and pique, the members were also sent a magazine financed by members who had various theories.
In 1966 Uranus and other groups studying the paranormal gathered in Europe ' UGEPI (Union of the Study Groups of unexplained phenomena): the leaders of these groups, from Luxembourg, Switzerland, Belgium, France and Portugal, met annually.
