Psychological theory on UFO sightings

Carl Gustav Jung (1875-1961) was a psychologist and one of the greatest exponents of psychoanalysis . He graduated in Basel, Switzerland, with a thesis on "so-called occult phenomena." Become a psychiatrist, was for a long time in contact with Freud same and even became the main contributor. In 1913 they found a posting for his school of psychology who defined " analytical psychology ". This theory, in contrast to the psychoanalytic, has a different conception of ' unconscious which is to be in the spirit, shared by several individuals, to have its existence, its purpose and its own particular intelligence. This "collective unconscious" is structured according to various archetypes, basic images for which we shall develop the psychic life of the individual.
In 1958, Jung, published A modern myth ( Ein Modern Mythus ), Where he exhibited his theory on unidentified flying objects , Propose an explanation in psychological terms. In his book, claimed that the typical round and bright bodies that were often spotted in the sky were not nothing but a symbol that reveals the unconscious during the experience dream or vision . The rotondum (a circle or a sphere) is archetypal symbol that every culture has always identified as a sign of all , completeness and perfection .
Jung therefore reduces to the UFO phenomenon projections automatic involuntary , Generated by instinct evoked by some stimulus and physical response to a deep need to see "signs of salvation in heaven." Towards the end of the book, however, admit that this explanation can not justify all of the cases.
