The first "flying saucer" on Mount Rainier

Tuesday 24 June 1947 , Kenneth Arnold had a sighting of an unidentified flying object over Mount Rainier, Washington. Arnold was a man of business Boise (nell'Idaho) and that day was making a flight with his private plane from the town of Chehalis to Yakima , 175 Km east of the state of Washington. Around 15 hours, in the middle of the flight, while flying over the Mount Rainier ( Cascade Mountains ), Kenneth saw a group of nine items in the shape of a disk which emanated a strong light reflected from the sun. A witness had reported that North-South direction, and proceeded at high speed snaking between the peaks of mountains in the area: Mount Rainier and Mount Adams . The sighting occurred at about 30-40 km away, but Arnold calculated that the formation UFO traveled about 75 km; sighting lasted 120 seconds, which means, roughly, the OVNI had a speed of 2'700 Km / h .
